Darkness had settled in the sky outside, halls that just hours before drummed with visitors coming and going, doctors pacing from room to room, phones begging for attention, all had been silence by the night, only the soft melody of machines, breathing and the soft steps of the staff broke the silence. Albert Wilhelm wondered these halls taking in what would become a second home. The offices he pasted seemed empty, no doubt most people had already headed home, as he would do as well soon enough, his work being done for the day. In this contemplative walk he found himself before a dimly lit room above the door it read Princeton-Plainsboro Chapel. with this Albert sighed shaking his head as he exclaimed "An atheist about to relax in a chapel" The Chapel was a small room, just large enough to fit no more then a dozen people, four pews, two on each side of a red faded carpet decorated the room. a dull dark wooden cross hanging on the wall behind a pulpit completed the religious decor. Somewhere in here there should be a TV, he was almost sure he had over heard something about good TV reception in here. Sure enough in the back left corner of the room, hidden in shadow, was a TV on a small stand on wheels, the remote resting on top the set. The reception indeed proved to be good, yet a quick run through of the channels was quickly proving nothing was on. Just as he was about to give up the channel changed and the Titanic came into view and "My heart will go On" had just began to play. Its melody dancing softly upon the walls and around the room, and in the dark and otherwise complete silence a deep loneliness engulfed him. Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does go on Once more you open the door And you're here in my heart And my heart will go on and on As the song came to a close Albert turned of the TV and sat staring at the cross upon the wall. It wasn't that he didn't want to belief in god, any god even, but despite his most honest efforts he couldn't. "How simple it would be......If only I could believe". In a world without a God there was nothing to give humanity a purpose, what it meant to be human, any meaning life had, He was forced to create or find for himself, and in this lonely moment, a moment when a God may very well be most useful, there was none, no God, no other person, just him. "You know, I actually like chapel, a small group of people singing in worship, an inspirational dairy tale, there's a certain energy about it, it's almost enough to make one believe..., almost......but not quite." With that he stood, admired that idealistic symbol on the wall a moment longer, and then feeling as if someone was watching or near by he looked to the doorway

Kayla had been working late, much later and she'd be taking night shift, something she had been thankful for. Her job as a doctor proved to be much for her, a lot of hard work. She was constantly tired, but who wasn't anymore? It was rare in a hospital type setting anyone knew the meaning of Normal working hours. Kayla knew she sure didn't. Yet one thing that always kept her on edge seemingly always pressed for time were the damn bus sedules. Ne Jersey sure had its share of them much like Daytona, running on a sedgule that wasn't always to her liking, but she delt with it.
As it was now she was one of the few staff allowed to head out for the night. She wasn't on-call tonight something she was thankful for, one of the perks she suposed of being head of her deapartment, she had other skilled and well-qulified comrads willing to be on call when she herself couldn't. Yet her mind had either drifted, or she had re-routed herself without even noticing. Whatever the case may be she had gotten off track and now passed by the chaple normally a quiet place where loved ones would come and prayed for their friends and family being treated.
While Kayla never praticed religion herself, she could not escape its grip. As a child her family was very religious which she suposed had driven her away from it. While she didn't coc onsider herself any part of any one relegion she held onto some of her teachings her parents had thrust on her. If for any other reason, to valadate her actions when it came to speaking to thin air, calling for their guidance when things get rough, asking questions that she may or may not have already had the answers to, if only to hear herself ask them. Insaine maybe, but valadated by the fact she could always say its a form of prayer.... and with America and its views on such a word few questioned her methods.
As she wheeled herself past the doors of the chaple, unaware as to the fact she was outside of it a moment, she could hear the sounds of the television. She was aware of one being in there, normally hidden to keep some doctors from using it to slack off, but it worked none the less and had been put to use on this night. While she noted the volume low, it had been loud and clear enough for her cat-like hearing as she so-named it to pick out the song being sung. She picked up also on the context and knew that it had been the ending of the movie Titanic.... this causing her to meantly chuckle to herself at someone listening to such a song in a place such as this knowing as to the main reason for its existance.
It was then, the feeling of eyes on her became apparent. Not knowing who it could have been, not being able to see them, she spoke. "I'm sorry.... I didn't mean to intrude..... I was just leaving. Do forgive me for disturbing your suslatude.

"Your disturbance of my solitude is on the contrary all to welcome. What auks me perhaps an abundance of solitude". as Albert spoke he walked into the light so he could properly come to know the person who had happened across him by lucky coincidence.
OOC:I would write more, however it is very late, and since i don't know Kayla's appearance I will let her and or whomever else happens by build

(the best way would be to read her bio so you can get an idea.)
Kayla smiled lightly not to afraid of causing an unwanted sceane any longer. At first, that had been a concurn, but then again, she honestly thought it was house who had chosen this as his hiding place. She didn't know the other doctor well, but from what she's heard, and listening him speak on occassion gave her enough to go on. But, the person speaking to her deffently did not sound like house. In fact the voice was completely new, one she was sure she hadn't heard before.
She turned her chair slightly to appear to be facing her speaker a little more, but still matained enough distance between herself and the door so that other people could eaither enter or leave. While there was a chaplin avaible on-call if needed, it still didn't mean paicents and or their families couldn't enter to pray freely.
She pushed a lock of her brown hair out of her eyes blinking the sightless orbs to clear them from the fitigued feeling that threatened to over come her. She could not allow herself to lose control of it until she had made it safely home.
"I'm sorry I don't think we've had the pleasure of meating. I am Dr Kayla Tsukino head of neroligy and you are?"

Albert smiled softly at the welcome company "I am Albert Wilhelm, currently a Med Student, and in a matter of speaking i was just enjoying this Chapel room". he stated in a very soft peaceful tone shaking her hand and bowing slightly while doing so.
Albert was aware that the night had only grown older in his isolation and finding anyone who was not serving a shift was exceedingly rare. That being taken into consideration it would be understandable that she would have someplace to be or something she needed to do, however he had only just met her, and he would be more then willing to get to know a little bit more about her.
It suddenly occurred to him that while the chapel to him seemed a nice place to sit and think, to her, and others it may very well be a more sacred place and he may have actually been keeping her from praying to her God. Even if god doesn't exist, and that when these people pray, they would be praying to essentially nothing, If a person can pray and sincerely belief that they are communicating with god, then even if there is no god, because they are sincerer, the action is not a waste of time.
"If you don't mind my asking, why are you still here? I hope I am not keeping you from something, or from using this room, I'm done with it now, and to be honest, I wasn't really using it to begin with"

Kayla laughed lightly. "Actually I'm off for the day." she stated as she received and shook the person's hand back. Before exiting, she had taken the time to stop by her locker and rid herself of the white lab coat that indicated that she was on duity. Currently she was simply dressed in the dress suit she wore under it. While she didn't care much for the outfit, she did have to dress in a professional manner while at work so that was what she did, dress accordingly to the standard dress code.
"I was heading out to be honest. I simply allowed myself to become distracted by the sound of the television. " she admitted honestly.

"well far be it from me to keep you any longer then I already have, It was nice meeting you, and i am sure I will have the privilege of conversing with you again sometime, yet for the moment it is late, and each of us are being puled to diffrent places." She seemed very nice, and meeting her had giving this night an almost cheerful nature. There is something to moments like these, moments where his existence and that of others interact and begin to influence one another that he feels is to be valued, something special, something moving. "How about we meet up again some time soon, I am sure we can correlate another break or free moment in which we could share a few more words with one another, when are you free?"

"Well I do have the next couple of days off." Kayla replied to his question. It was true. Unless an emgerceny occoured she did in fact earn a little time off and far be it for her to pass up such an opertune thing such as that. "And, don't feel bad... it was I who allowed myself to become distracted." she replied in kind.

"yeah, my schedule fairly clear for the next few days as well." Being new he actually didn't have much of schedule to speak of. "So....lunch tomorrow then?" he asked, waiting for her response, and then bring the conversation to a close for the night "It was nice meeting you, I hope that you have a good night. I'll be seeing you

Kayla nodded. "Lunch sounds great.... any place in particular you had in mind?" she asked, but internally her mind was racing. Did she just get asked out by someone she had just met? God.... what had gotten into her?
::Get a grip Kayla he just wants to get to know you nothing more......::
"You know, it was nice running into you as well." Kayla finally said snapping herself out of her mind-knumbing thought when she relized he had been speaking.

Before he knew it he was watching her walk away, this brief meeting had been somewhat nice, and who knows, maybe this could become a very pleasant friendship, perhaps something more, at any rate he certainly wasnt feeling lonely anymore. Albert walked back into the chapel, relaxed into one of the pews, and sat thinking about his day, and talking softly to the room."Isn't life interesting, In the midst of a deep loneliness someone comes along to break it, and suddenly the world doesn't seem so bleak anymore.,,,,it's almost enough to make a person believe,....almost....but not quite." A few more moments of silence and then he to went home to rest.
The day began, soft and light, Albedo woke up early, he knew his meeting was at noon, but he wanted to see he again, and so he ate breafest about *:30 and headed off to see this person again. He waited at the Chapel, and sat contemplating the day Until she came into sight once again.

Kayla had taken advantage of not having to be in. She slept in, and took her time not being a morning person. She relized however, that she had made one mistake.... she never gathered the details to meet albert. How stupid she must've been. Seriously..... what had gotten to her? Had their breif encounter had that much of an effect? But, she did promise him lunch. So that was what she would do.
However, in her haste to not miss the last bus of the evening, she had failed to give her contact information or take the time to ask for his. Another stupid move on her part. Normally she wasn't that ditzy or spacey, but where to find him? How about the last place they had spoken.... the chapel.
She hopped a bus and was back at work in no time. Trafic had been good to her and she managed to make her connections, in record time no less. Pasing people in the halls, she gave them a breif greating before heading back to the chapel. This time quiet had greated her ears. Not being able to see the chapel for cirtain, Kayla entered it fully this time and softly called out, "albert are you here?"

So much left to chance, it would be surprising if she showed at all, in hind sight he had been so tired last night he hadn't exactly set a;allot of details into play, and now it was time to see if he would suffer for his haste, Still, it isn't exactly like he had anything better to do then wait right now, how sad that is he would just as soon not think about right now.
Luck however was still with him, for soon enough his cognitive petal picking of will she wont she was interrupted by her Voice. "Yep, just stepped in here for a moment, I'm finding its a good spot for me to do my thinking" hoping up from a pew and greeting her just inside the doorway he say the Doctor he had just barely crossed paths with and yet had been thinking so much about "So Lunch then? where did you have in mind, I didn't address allot of details last nigh, suppose my head was somewhere else, but I'm game for anywhere" He expressed as he stretched slightly still trying to shake his inactivity from his limbs

"In truth I have yet to give it much thought. However, I know a couple of decent places not to far from the hospital here." Kayla had adressed the question without missing a beat. Her voice remained soft and low, being as how she was still in a place where such a tone was preffable.
She gave him a soft smile before turning herself around. "So are you ready then?" she inquired of the med student. It had amazed her, they had barely crossed paths last night, both seemingly tired from their doings of what ever. Yet she could pick up on the feeling which was futher confirmed by his admission that he had been in a state of deep thinking. Yet, she wondered what he could've been thinking about.

Smiling softly in his usual gentle voice he replied "Yeah, I think I am" he said with a slight nod. Here he found himself again, being entrapped by emotions of affection, secret hopes the locks upon the chains of endearment. By paradox this envelopment imprisoning him exempted him, liberated him from the desolate and forsaken unrestrained solitude. How welcome this alluring fancy was contrasted against his solitude.
"How about we just get into your car and see we we end up for this lunch of ours, the details I am concerned with do not rest in where we eat, yet in what becomes known of one another about each and the exorbitance we have in doing so." Albert exclaimed as he stepped beside her, unsure if offering to push her would be considered generous or an unwelcome form of pity. She was a very accomplished person by any standard, and he hand no intention of implying in any way that he thought she any less capable of getting through the hall then he was. Going back to his remark on experiences he commented "After all, what is life if not a series of experiences that inevitably define us" as they began walking away from the chapel.
