Des visited his fourteen-year-old brother, Devan. Des just looked at Devan from across the room. "I'm going to get some grub," Des said his mother and sixteen-year-old brother, James. Des smiled at the three of them. He opened the door and walked out. Then he closed the door. Des was wearing a black AC DC shirt and jeans. He started walking towards the cafeteria because he was extremely hungry. He didn't think Devan would notice that he was gone because Devan was asleep.
When Des was almost at the cafeteria, he had this strange feeling in his gut. He figured it was nothing and kept walking. All of a sudden, Des felt dizzy. It felt like he had spun around a million times, but he hadn't spun around at all. He had a major headache and a fever. Why was this happening? He felt fine earlier. He collapsed, but his eyes were closed and he was rarely breathing. His pulse was weak.
Des had been gone for a long time, but Devan and his mother figured that he was still eating. Sometimes it took Des a long time to eat, but that wasn't the case. The Brinks didn't realize what was really happening. While Des was laying on the ground, it looked like he was asleep. People who walked by really did think Des was asleep.

Angel was walking down the hallway on the second floor, looking over yet another file. She nearly tripped over something, so she looked down at what was in the way. Looking down, she found a young boy sleeping, or atleast he appeared to be sleeping.
"Hey, hey kid..." She said, squatting down beside him. She wondered why no nurse or anyone had bothered to wake the kid up. She shook him gently, but that didn't seem to rouse him. Looking closer, she noticed his breathing was laboured. Reaching for his neck, she checked and found a spotty pulse. "Nurse! I need a nurse and gurney, this child has a weak pulse!" She called out, watching as two nurses scrambled to meet her demand. She watched as they lifted the boy carefully on to the bed and she began to check his other vitals. "Come on kid, wake up." She looked up at the nurse. "See if anyone is missing a child, I'm gonna make sure this kid gets looked after." She said, dismissing one nurse. "You, we need to bag him, getting his breathing back to normal. Start an IV as well, he's burning up."

Now it had been a very long time. Des still hadn't returned. James walked out of Devan's room and walked into the halls. James was wearing jeans and a plain white shirt. He was wearing a hat that read Plain White T's covering James' blond hair. Roughly about a minute or two, James saw Des in a gurney. He was scared for Des now. "Des! Des!" he was yelling for his brother. He looked at the nearest doctor. He was near her. "What happened to my brother?" James asked.
Des still didn't wake up. James looked at his brother's limp body. He looked very worried. A tear came down James' cheek. "What's happening to him?" James tried to be calm, but it was hard because now both of his brothers were sick.

Angel turned when she heard someone calling out after them. "You're his brother?" She inquired, glad that they had found someone who knew the child. "I don't know what happened to your brother. I found him passed out on the floor with a weak pulse." She said, trying to calm the young boy down.
"Listen to me, I need you to go get your mother." She said softly, looking the boy in his eyes. "We're going to admit him, just to keep an eye on him, alright? Can you do that? Get your mother?"

"He's my younger brother." James tried calming down. Well now he knew his brother passed out. James nodded, he knew he had to get his mother. "I'll go get her." James ran throughout the halls until he finally reached Devan's room. He opened the door. His mother could tell "Mom, it's Des. I need you to come with me,"something was wrong. James told his mother. Their mother kissed Devan's forehead and walked out the door with James.
A few minutes later, James and his mother were visible for the doctor to see them. "Has something happened to my son?" their mother was very worried, well of course she was. "Mom the doctor found Des passed out on the floor with a weak pulse." The mother was in shock, she didn't know what to say.

Sighing, Angel was glad that the boy listened and went to get his mother. She continued to watch over the young boy as she waited for his mother to arrive. The nurse had managed to bag him and had an IV going.
"Ma'am, I need to know the medical history of your son. I found him when I was walking the halls, he was passed out on the ground." Angel said calmly. "Did you know he had left you? Is someone else in your family a patient here in the hospital?" She hated asking so many questions, but she needed to know. "We're going to admit him to check him out, his pulse is spotty, his breathing is weak and he has a very high fever."

Their mother did not all these questions. "Des doesn't have any medical history. I mean nothing this serious," their mother was confused on why Des passed out. "He only went to the cafeteria." Mrs. Brink was very confused. "Our brother Devan. He has cancer though," James didn't give his mother a chance to answer one of the questions. James and his mother were very, very worried about Des. Of course they would be.
Mrs. Brink could not believe this was happening. She could not believe it at all. First one of her sons having cancer, now this. Mrs. Brink and James were speechless. She had to think of something to say when the doctor told her that they had to check Des out. "Of course," Mrs. Brink almost broke down into tears, but she held the tears back. She wasn't about to let herself cry.

"I'm sorry to hear that." Angel bit her lower lip when she heard that his other brother was a cancer patient. "Alright, I'll see if I can get him a room near his brother, that way there won't be a lot of traveling for you." She took a deep breath and sighed. "I'll get someone from pediatrics up here to take a better look at him, and hopefully we'll have him up and about very soon." She said, trying to reassure the mother and older brother. She hated having to comfort blubbering mothers, but she did the best she could. Motioning for the nurse to take the boy away, she looked at the mother again. "Go, be with him, it helps having someone familiar around."

James and his mother nodded. Mrs. Brink had a small smile on her face, but it wiped off of her face in an instant. She was glad that her youngest son was going to be taken care of. She just didn't know how her husband would feel about two out of their three sons were sick. James looked at his brother more then he looked at his mother. He was kind of telling her that he would stay and watch Devan and that she should go with Des. Mrs. Brink walked alongside the gurney her son was in. She started talking to him as if he were talking back, in her mind he was talking to her.

Angel watched as the mother and son walked off in one direction while the other son walked towards his other brother's room. Shaking her head, she pulled a nurse aside. "When they have a room, let me know the room number." She informed the nurse. She'd come back and check on the little boy once she was done what she needed to do. With that, she was off to find a pediatrics doctor.

After she finally managed to settle into her office, Alexandria headed out in the hallway. She already knew that the psychiatrist that she had been forced to go to didn’t exactly agreed with her decision to head back to work. Although, she still didn’t understand where boyfriend’s death plus mourning equaled depression. Well, in her opinion the man was a complete idiot, and she was perfectly able to head back to work. Which was probably why she accepted the position here. Besides, she had worked for years to get where she was. At least she was hoping that where she was now was a better hospital then the one that she had left. However, she also knew that being Head of Pediatrics was probably going to be hard work.

Angel made her way to the pediatrics wing, looking for the head of the department. Finding the office, she noticed a woman exiting. Assuming that she was the head, she walked briskly to catch her. "Are you the head of pediatrics?" She inquired, hoping that she had found the right person. "I found a young boy passed out in the hallway. Weak pulse, heavy labored breathing and high fever. I've admitted him, but I figured you'd be the better person to make any diagnoses." She stated, then stopped realizing she hadn't introduced herself. "I'm Dr. Angel Fraser, head of cardiology by the way."

She hadn’t gotten far before noticing a woman walking in her direction. The only way that Alexandria listened to everything that was told to her, before saying anything. “Yes.” She replied. She then thought over exactly what the doctor in front of her said about the young boy that she had found in the hallway. “I believe that I might have to see the boy before I make any kind of diagnosis about him. Any idea on what room he’s in.” After she stated that, she also realized that she didn’t exactly say who she was. “Dr. Alexandria Cassidy, head of pediatrics as you already figured out."

"Pleasure to meet you, Dr Cassidy." Angel said, giving the woman a smile. "I'm pretty sure he's in room 243, but I'd double check with the nurse at the desk. His brother is a patient here being treated for cancer." She informed the doctor, glad that she had found the right person. "Let me know the diagnosis please," She added, handing the doctor her pager number as well as her office number. "I just want to check in on him, see if he's alright." She sighed, knowing that the little boy had pulled at her heartstrings.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you as well, Dr. Fraser.” Alex said smiling back at the moment. She nodded as she listened to what room number the boy was probably placed in, and also made a quick note to also check with the nurse to make sure. “You said that his brother is here being treated for cancer.” She shook her head feeling sorry for whoever their mother was now having both of her children in the hospital. As the other doctor handed out her pager number and office number, she took them without saying anything. “I’ll be sure to let you know.” She stated. “Before I forget, you didn’t by any chance catch the boy’s name did you?”
