Angel paced in her room while she waited for the surgery to begin. She was nervous, like most patients were before surgery. She pulled her bathrobe closer to her body, feeling a slight chill due to the thin hospital gown she wore. Millions of things ran through her mind, like any complications that could arise from the surgery.
Stopping in front of her bed, she closed her eyes for a moment to collect her thoughts and calm herself down. Going through her check list mentally, she double checked that she had given to the other doctors, her voice mail informed any callers that she'd be gone for a week, and had moved her television into her room so that she could easily rest while recovering. That led her to her next thought, where was Wilson? He said he would be here before she went under.

Thinking that Angel would need a feminine presence before her surgery, Cuddy had made her way down to the room. She made it there in time to see her friend stop pacing. Cuddy entered the room and made her way to Angel's side.
"You okay?" she asked, then flinched. She wouldn't want to be asked that right before major surgery...the answer, she was sure, would be a resounding 'no', but Cuddy felt like she needed to say something. "Sorry. I know you're scared. Everything's going to be fine, Angel," Cuddy gave the cardiologist an encouraging smile before leaning in and giving her best friend a hug.

House waited outside the room while Cuddy finished her girly hugging moment with Angel. Gag. He banged his cane against the door frame and walked in.
"All right, girl and girl, thank you for that girl on girl action, but time's a wasting and we have cuttin' to do." He came to a stop a safe couple of feet away from the two women. His brand of levity wasn't exactly everyone else's definition, but it was better than being all weepy and sympathetic. "Going to have a look-see at your hoo-hoo. Won't that be ever so much fun? I promise to make copies of the tape and sell them for the highest bidder. I'll give you ten percent."
He paused, taking a look around. "Hey, surgery girl, where's your girlfriend?"
