"House is going to be fifty?" Angel blinked, not completely sure how to take that. Of course she knew House was older than her, but she hadn't expected him to be that much older. "Hm that definitely qualifies for something big." She thought. She wasn't terribly good about planning things, but she was more than willing to help out once something was planned.
"Well, there's always the option of a surprise party." She suggested. She then continued to thing, with an idea dawning on her. "House has yet to go to any of your appointments right? Why not take him? You'll be how far along by that point?"

Cuddy nodded sagely. Fifty was a huge milestone. And she really did want something huge to commemorate it. Part of her felt that she'd want to celebrate with him even if they weren't a couple...weren't having a baby together. They were just that close. But then...there was the option that House wouldn't want to celebrate; he'd never acknowledged any of his previous birthdays.
"A surprise party? You hand out invitations to a surprise party for Gregory House and you will get looks and questions about your sanity." Cuddy resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She knew Angel was trying to help. She lifted a hand to brush some hair back out of her face, but stopped, turning confused eyes to Angel. "I'll be twenty-one weeks. I don't even know what date that appointment is, though, yet." She doubted House would go with her anyway; the secret of their relationship was too great.

Angel shrugged. "I was never good at planning birthday parties for anything big like turning fifty." She sighed, shaking her head. "The most planning I've done for birthdays is what restaurant or bar we're meeting at." She looked down at her empty mug.
"If I think of anything I'll let you know." Angel smiled reassuringly. "Although I still think something to do with the baby would be a wonderful idea. I mean, I'm sure you could hijack a sonogram machine so that he could see it in private, without anyone else knowing. Granted one of you would have to know how to use it."

"Hm." Cuddy quirked her lips. "Well...I suppose I could have him meet me in an exam room with an ultrasound machine. You know, if I can't think of anything else." She shrugged and finished off her tea. A chance look at her watch reminded her of the time. Sighing heavily, she took another bite of her cookie.
"I don't want to do anything he'll resent me for. A lavish party isn't really his style, and he wouldn't get involved. Dragging him to my appointment...he'd be bored out of his mind. Greg is of the opinion that if you've seen one ultrasound, you've seen them all. He'd sit there and sulk." Which was the last thing she wanted.

"Completely up to you, I just figured I'd throw the idea out there." Angel smiled. She glanced over Cuddy's shoulder at the time on the microwave. It was getting late, but atleast it wasn't too late in the evening. "You two could always swing by here on his birthday and we could order pizza. I could make the cake."
Angel thought about that idea for a moment. Just the four of them sitting around watching movies or something, talking and enjoying each others company. She could see these gatherings happening on more than one occasion, and she was thrilled. The future was looking so bright, and Angel couldn't be happier. A big smile crossed her face, she couldn't help but hide it.

Cuddy thought about that for a moment. It was definitely something she'd have to run by him, though it would have to wait until that day. "I'll have to think about that." It did sound like something they could do. She was sure House wouldn't be opposed to the idea, but she didn't want to make decisions for him. Planning in secret was one thing, actually making his decision for him...that was going too far.
"If you do make a cake, though...forget the candles. Even the number-shaped ones. He'll probably be depressed enough about being fifty. He won't want wax numerals reminding him of that fact," she chuckled. She'd think of something appropriate, and she'd make sure that House enjoyed his birthday. "But, like I said, we've got till June. We'll think of something."

Angel nodded. She'd help out if she was asked, she enjoyed helping out. A thought struck her though. She didn't know when Wilson's birthday was. Reminding herself that they were still in the early stages of a relationship, birthdays were probably one of the next things to tell each other.
"I'm sure whatever you choose to do will be wonderful and appreciated by House." She smiled. When Cuddy mentioned that House wouldn't want candles, she chuckled. "Gotcha, no candles. I don't think I would add them anyways."

Cuddy nodded as she finished off her second cookie. She hoped that, no matter what she came up with to celebrate, House would at least appreciate the effort. She knew he would most likely shrug it off, as he had done with his previous birthdays, but she had to try. She had to make an effort, show him she loved him enough to remember his birthday and try to do something nice for him.
She glanced at her watch again. "It's getting late," she observed. She didn't want to go, but she really should get some sleep. She had the oddest feeling that if she came into work tired, House would put her on a strictly-enforced sleep schedule. It wasn't likely, but if he did, she wouldn't mind. She knew it was his way of telling her he cared about her.

"Yeah, it is." Angel sighed. "I'll see you out." She smiled, being the ever nice hostess. She picked up both mugs and moved them to the sink after getting up from the table. While up, she grabbed a ziplock bag and returned to the table, filling the bag with some cookies. "For the road." She added, handing Cuddy the bag.
She was about to speak when she remembered something. "Before you leave..." She said, rushing out of the kitchen to her room. Opening a small box on her dresser, she withdrew something and hurried back to the kitchen. "I made this shortly after finding out you were pregnant." She stated, holding out a necklace. It was a leather strung small vial, containing a couple of semi precious stones. "Hematite to help reduce stress, Coral for childbirth, Quartz for healing, and Onyx for protection." She said, pointing out the different stones.

Cuddy accepted the bag of cookies with a smile. "Thanks, Angel." She stood and had started making her way to the door when Angel spoke again. She stopped and watched her friend run back through the house. When Angel returned and showed her the necklace, her eyes widened slightly. She listened as Angel explained the significance of the various stones.
"It's beautiful." Cuddy took the necklace carefully into her hand, examining the stones more closely. "Thank you," she said again, looking up at her friend. She hugged Angel, stepping back after a moment. "It's been fun. We'll have to bring the guys along next time," she laughed, turning again to the door. "See you tomorrow, hopefully."

"You are more than welcome." Angel smiled brightly. She hugged Cuddy back and moved towards the door. She didn't want to say good bye just yet, but her friend had made a valid point that it was getting late. "Thank you for coming." She said. She was happy that she had been able to do this for her friend, and stretch her magical legs so to speak considering it had been a while.
"A double date? Hm, could prove to be interesting. I'll make sure to have beer in the fridge." She chuckled. At the mention of work then next day, Angel made a face. "Of course, wouldn't miss it for the world." She chuckled. "Have a good night Lisa." She added, opening the door for her friend.

Cuddy smiled at Angel. "Thanks for inviting me. And...thanks for the ritual," she answered, the hand not holding the bag of cookies drifting slowly to her midsection. She really did appreciate everything her best friend was doing for her. She was lucky to have Angel as her friend.
"Very interesting. Just no chick flicks or romantic comedies. We don't want to torture them, after all." She made a face at the mention of alcohol. "Yeah. Greg will love you forever if there's scotch." Cuddy didn't think she had to remind Angel that she would be drinking tea, juice, or water the whole night. She laughed along with Angel and gave the cardiologist a warm smile. "You too, Angel," she replied, exiting the house and making her way back down to her car.

"You're very welcome. I do almost anything for friends." Angel smiled, watching Cuddy's hand move to her midsection. "Don't worry, you'll make it to term." She said in a reassuring voice. She knew it would take more than words to reassure Cuddy, but she felt as though it would be a good thing to say.
"Blech, chick flicks." Angel said, making a face. "Chick flicks are torture." She mumbled. Nodding, she made the mental note to double check that she had scotch in the house. "I usually have a well stocked liquor cabinet. As for you, I'll have tea or juice." She smiled. "See you tomorrow." She called out after Cuddy as she watched her friend leave. Closing the door behind her, Angel let out a sigh and moved towards the kitchen. Shrugging, she decided to skip the dishes and do them tomorrow. Still working off the buzz she had gotten when casting her circle, Angel decided it would be best to just get to bed. Moving to her bed room, she removed her white dress, climbed into bed and fell asleep within minutes.
