"No problem, what are friends for?" Angel smiled. She was trying to change the subject to a happier one. "I can't wait, I am so looking forward to going to the spa." She sighed, pushing her mug forward. Just then the waitress returned. "I'll take a refill please." She smiled. The waitress took the mug and looked over at Cuddy.
"Yep, the past is the past. No need to dwell on it." Angel stated, stretching a bit. "Oh, I should probably mention, I'm scheduled for my laparoscopy so I'll need probably a week off to recover." She said, just remembering about it. "I don't want Wilson to know about it, I don't think he needs to be worrying over me because of that."

Nodding wordlessly, Cuddy smiled. The spa would be perfect, just what the doctor ordered, in a sense. House had practically ordered her to relax, unwind, not put so much stress on herself and the baby. So, he'd better be happy when she told him her spa weekend with Angel was back on. Hopefully nothing would go wrong this time, forcing them to push it back yet again. When she felt the waitress's eyes on her, she set her half-full hot chocolate mug to the side, indicating that she could do with a bit more cocoa.
Cuddy raised an eyebrow at her friend. "That won't be a problem. You've got competent doctors in your department that can work without you for a week." She could understand not wanting Wilson to know. Cuddy knew Wilson's worrying mother-hen habits all too well. "I'm sure we can find something else for him to do while you're recovering if you don't want him mother-henning you." She could put Wilson on clinic for a while, but that wouldn't last long, probably. "All we can hope for is that he's got a lot of appointments that week. Or if he decides to check up on the cancer kids himself..." she trailed off.

"Just think, a weekend of no worries, except maybe which facial you want, or what colour you want your nails to be." Angel chuckled. She could definitely use a weekend away as well.
"I'm sure someone of your influence," She said, smirking. "Could find many a thing to keep him occupied and not thinking about me for a while." She chuckled. "Don't get me wrong, James is a very sweet loving and caring. I love him for that, I really do, but this is something I just don't think this is something he needs to know right now." She sighed. "Quite frankly I think it's a little, well, embarrassing."

At the moment, Cuddy felt relaxed. Just looking forward to the weekend was enough to make her let everything go. The anticipation of an entire two days away from the hospital definitely helped to calm her thoughts. It was highly unlikely that anything would happen to break her mood before the spa weekend. "Hm...facials and nail polish...I've never heard of tougher decisions," she laughed, drawing the attention of an elderly woman at a table not far from her's and Angel's. She glanced apologetically at the woman, who turned back to her tea and crossword puzzle.
"James is a chronic worrier. I'll do what I can, but I don't know if I can hold him for long. Wilson just knows when someone needs him. Why do you think he came back last month?" The waitress returned with their refills, and Cuddy sipped at hers, watching Angel carefully for a reaction.

Angel laughed at the look Cuddy got from the old lady, then tried to stifle her laughter so that she wouldn't get the look of death from the old lady either. "Yes, very tough decisions. Do you want red clay or oats for your facial... Aromatherapy or hydration massage. Red or pink nails..." She smiled. She already had an idea of what she was going to choose.
"Thank you," Angel smiled at the waitress as she placed the two mugs down on the table. She looked up at Cuddy, not completely sure how to reply to that comment. "I'm still a little fuzzy on how he ended up back here." She looked down at her mug. "I didn't want to be the reason he stayed, and yet I was the reason he came back. I just wanted him to be happy." She sighed, blowing on her hot chocolate. "Who told him?"

Cuddy set down her mug slowly, shifting in her seat. She deliberately did not look at Angel. "No one told him." She knew no one had told him, since House hadn't relayed her message to Wilson before accompanying her down to the ER, and she was fairly certain that House hadn't had a chance to call the oncologist back during the crisis. "House was on the phone with Wilson, presumably telling him about my pregnancy." Finally she glanced up. "We decided we would each tell one person," she explained before continuing. "I got your phone call and went to House's office. I told him what that you had been in an accident, and House didn't even mention your name until he'd hung up the phone. If Wilson heard anything over the phone, it's unlikely that he knew it was you." Wrapping her hands tightly around her mug, Cuddy stared down into the chocolaty drink. "Wilson showed up probably as I was calling time of death on Jackson....House couldn't have had time to call him back after hanging up on him so quickly before the ambulance arrived."

Angel listened to Cuddy explain what had happened, taking the occasional sip from her mug. "And of course, James being the intelligent person that he is, probably put two and two together." She sighed, cradling the mug in her hands. She too looked down into her drink, as if it held all the answers. A pang of guilt twisted inside her as she thought of how Wilson had given everything up to come back, mainly just for her. "I guess it shows how much he cared for me, whether we were dating or not." She said softly.

Cuddy nodded. "Probably." Again, she glanced up, raising the hot chocolate to her lips. Wilson had always been surprisingly intuitive when it came to caring about people. She supposed that's what made him such an excellent doctor. And what would make him the perfect man for Angel. Everyone had someone who was good for them...Wilson was exactly what Angel needed to help her heal, just as House had always been able to keep Cuddy from going completely insane.
"He really does care for you, Angel. And you have to remember...he's broken, too. He knows what you've been through. He couldn't turn to anyone for any real, honest support after Amber died, so he's giving you the real, honest support you need." He could have turned to House if he hadn't been blaming House for Amber's death, but as it stood, House couldn't have been much help anyway, having been comatose at the time.

Angel gave Cuddy a shy smile, feeling bashful at the mere mention of Wilson having true feelings for her and caring for her. "I guess you just get used to the neglect inflicted upon you by the exes that you have to adjust to the idea of having someone caring for you who isn't a parental figure." She said, thinking over Cuddy's words.
"Two halves always make a whole." She said softly, thinking how both her and Wilson were halves. Together, they complimented each other so well, creating the perfect balance. She let out a small chuckle, thinking about how her thoughts were starting to sound a lot like a romance novel. She raised her mug to Cuddy. "Here's to finding our other halves."

Lisa smiled in response. "Yes. It is quite a feeling to know that someone cares for you completely and unquestioningly after you've been through so much hurt." It was only now as she spoke that Cuddy realized the uncanny similarities between how her and Angel had found their lovers. She didn't know how best to bring it up, though, until Angel raised her mug.
Cuddy brought her's up and nodded. "And here's hoping we keep them!" she laughed, taking a quick drink before setting her cup down. "You know...I just realized something." Cuddy looked over to make sure Crossword Lady was still ignoring them. She was. So Cuddy turned her eyes back to Angel. She wondered if there was a reason for the similarities, or if it was just coincidence.

"Yes it is indeed." Angel agreed, taking a small sip from her drink. "We are quite lucky to have found them, as well as each other." She added. "I can say with complete honesty that I have never had a friend as good as you."
Angel chuckled at Cuddy's addition to her toast. "I'm sure we'll keep them. Worse comes to worse, we'll shackle them to us." She laughed. She didn't mean it of course, but it was always nice to add comedic effect. "I think we've both managed to find Mr. Right, instead of Mr. Right Now." Angel quirked her head to the side at Cuddy's comment. "What did you just realize?"

"That we have," Cuddy replied to Angel's comment. Then she turned her revelation over in her head a couple times, making sure everything was in order before speaking. She had to get it right; maybe Angel could help her figure out if it was just coincidence that everything had happened the way it did in almost exactly the same way for both of them. Because, if Cuddy was going to be honest with herself, it was kind of freaky.
"I realized...we both found our soulmates in pretty much the same way." She took another long sip of her hot chocolate before continuing. "We met them at the beginning of a year: academic year for me, calender year for you. We were both dealing with crazy alcoholic ex boyfriends at the same time we were dealing with unusual feelings for our men. We were both being comforted when we got our first kisses with our respective guys." She realized as she was explaining that she'd have to reveal her side of all of those to Angel, but only if the cardiologist asked her to elaborate on them.
If she did end up having to explain, she'd give Angel the Reader's Digest version of events, if only to avoid dredging up painful memories.

Angel listened in silence as Cuddy explained how the two of them were similar, and how they had pretty much gone through the same experiences. She had to admit, it was a coincidence that they had run the same course. "As I said before, we are kindred spirits." Angel commented, offering Cuddy a smile.
She finished her hot chocolate and played with her mug. Things always had an interesting way of turning out. She made a mental note to thank the Goddess later on that evening when she got home. "Lisa, would you allow me to cast a circle and bless you and your baby while you're pregnant? It's up to you."

Cuddy nodded, finishing her drink and setting her mug aside. "Which just makes us closer as friends, right?" she asked in response to Angel's reiteration. Similar experiences between people made them more alike and therefore more likely to be friends. At least that's what she'd heard.
She contemplated Angel's request for a moment. "What's involved with that, exactly?" she asked seriously. She thought it was a legit question. She only hoped Angel wouldn't mind explaining the concept; Cuddy wanted to know what exactly was going to happen before she agreed to anything.

"Of course." Angel nodded. Again, she played with her mug, completely content that she had finally found someone who had experienced the same things she had. Now didn't seem like the time to inquire about Cuddy's previous experiences.
"Basically I'd cast a circle, with the help of candles, some incense... Nothing too elaborate. I mean it's pretty basic, no sacrifices. I don't do sacrifices." Angel wrinkled her nose. "I say some special words, as the Goddess to bless you and your child and then that's it."
