Angel stepped into the elevator with Cuddy, chuckling and shaking her head. "You may have a point. Could be the fact that I'm seeing Wilson too." She shrugged. She wasn't completely sure about House's motives, but she wanted to think that he did it because he was a good person.
"No, nothing happened." Angel commented. "I mean, we did sleep together, but not literally slept together." She said. "He stayed in the guest room for part of the night, I couldn't sleep. I went to get something to drink and ended up dropping my glass." She smiled fondly at the memory. "He woke up, cleaned up the mess and then made sure I got to sleep." She faced Cuddy. "That was the best sleep I have had in a long time, since the accident."

Nodding vaguely as she pushed the button for the first floor, Cuddy crossed her arms again. "And Wilson is the godfather. Who knows? I can barely figure out what House is thinking half the time. Did you know he came into my office the other day ranting about how I hadn't hired a secretary?" Well, she had one now; House had made sure of that. "Can't fault him for being protective, though. I'm only six weeks along and he's already in love with the kid," she chuckled as the doors slipped closed.
Cuddy nodded again at Angel's clarification. "I think James is the reason you're even able to sleep at night these days; am I right?" Angel had certainly seemed a lot happier since Wilson had come back from Maryland. "Have you told him...that you can't have children?" She knew Wilson had never wanted children of his own, but if they were going to be serious, he had to know. It was that simple.

"I think, when it comes to House, that it is easier not to try and figure out what he's thinking. Easier on the sanity." Angel smiled, listening as Cuddy mentioned about his rant. "Well, I think you should have a secretary." Angel nodded, agreeing with House. "You're going to need all the help you can get dealing with the bulging stomach, swollen ankles and possibly House fussing over you every other minute." She was glad that House was accepting his role as father.
A blush tinted her cheeks when Cuddy mentioned that Wilson was the reason she was sleeping better at night. "I had a nightmare where I woke up to Wilson laying next to me in bed, but he was dead. I then turned to get out of bed and there was Jackson, laying next to me dead as well." She pushed the dream out of her head. "I woke Wilson up, not meaning to. He listened to me, and I fell asleep." Shaking her head, she looked away for a moment. "No, I haven't told him yet. Like I said, I'm still waiting on the results to come back. I want to be one hundred percent sure before I tell him."

"Oh, he made sure I got a secretary." Cuddy rolled her eyes. "Less than two months before I start showing, so there's still a while before I have to worry about the first two. I think keeping our secret is the only thing keeping him from openly fussing over me every other minute." The protectiveness was sweet, really, and Cuddy wasn't complaining. She knew it was House's way of showing he cared.
She stayed quiet while Angel described her nightmare, a sympathetic look on her face. She knew how it felt to have someone you cared about there for you after a traumatic experience. But of course, without having experienced those experiences, people would never appreciate the ones who cared enough to help them through it. Cuddy thought it was wonderful that Angel had Wilson there for her.
"That makes sense," she replied to Angel's comment about being sure. This was definitely a case of certainty being better than being unsure.

"Good, because if he didn't, I would." Angel said, giving Cuddy a serious look. "If your new secretary ever needs a hand, I'm more than willing to help out as well." She smiled. "As for House being protective, this is a good thing. I'm sure he's not the fussing type, so anything he's doing now I'm sure is quite a welcome surprise."
"Last thing I need is to scare him off with the talk of children right off the bat." She chuckled, shaking her head. "I mean I know we did things a little backwards in this relationship, but still. I think the talk of children and marriage is something best left for later."

Cuddy leaned against the wall of the elevator, nodding in response to Angel's offer of assistance. She looked up as her friend continued speaking. "Yeah. Good thing," she sighed. She couldn't complain about any of it; House was dealing with this change in his own way, and if that included becoming suddenly overprotective, she couldn't fault him for it.
Laughing along with Angel, Lisa let her arms drop to her sides. "That's fine, just..." she paused. "Just don't ask him to move in with you right off either..." It had been at least a month since she'd suggested House start moving some of his stuff into her place, and he still didn't seem to think it was the right time. Shaking her head, she decided that Angel didn't need to know about that. Oh, she'd answer if asked, that was certain. But she didn't want her friend going to him and causing a problem.

"Believe me, the last thing I want to do is ask Wilson to move in with me." Angel said. "I enjoy having a house to myself and my cat right now. Although I will admit I did enjoy cooking him breakfast the morning of our date." She confessed. "I felt as though I was a house wife from the fifties. Cooking breakfast, kissing him goodbye."
Sighing, she shook her head. "Coffee sounds so good right now." She groaned. Her feet were starting to hurt, having been running around after the doctors underneath her, making sure they submitted paperwork, or signed off on consults. "Maybe something chocolate. Definitely need something chocolate."

Glad that Angel hadn't questioned her advice, she smiled. "My place is too big for just me," she commented off-handedly. Sure, there was plenty of room for a kid, but there was still more than enough room for one more... "Yeah. There's something that just feels right whenever I make Greg breakfast. Like that's how it's always been meant to be."
The doors slid open, and Cuddy smirked. "Well, let's go get something then. I'll buy this time," she chuckled. She had to laugh again at the reflection that she'd been laughing and smiling a lot more than usual in the past month. Anyone else would probably call her crazy to even think that House was the cause of her increased happiness, but anyone else couldn't claim they knew him like she did. "They've got some really good hot chocolate..." she remarked with a sideways glance at her best friend.
