"You don't owe me anything," Wilson said, taking out the dressing packet and setting it off to the side. "Friends are supposed to take care of friends without expecting anything in return...If only House could grasp that concept," he added, chuckling. He took a small bite of his salad.

"I don't think House will ever grasp that concept." Angel replied in between mouthfuls of salad. She smiled at him when he said she didn't owe him anything. Well, he was wrong, she owed him a lot. And she would make it up to him, one way or another. She wondered if he'd like a home cooked meal when she got out of the hospital, or maybe he needed a place to stay considering he did just move. She shook her head, rousing herself from her thoughts as she reached for the juice Wilson brought her.

"It's a long, slow process but I'm working on getting him to change his ways. Don't tell House I told you this but," he said, leaning forward slightly, "him and I have had a couple of hear-to-heart conversations. He's not as big of an ass as he likes to make himself out to be." House just needed a woman in his life to lighten him up, and now that he and Cuddy were back together things were going to be different.

Angel laughed, shaking her head as she took a sip of her juice. "House? The big bad wolf of Princeton-Plainsboro has a heart? I knew he did... He just doesn't like to show it like other people." Smiling, she put the cap back on her juice. "I can't wait to get back to my own bed." She said, moving around in the hospital bed. "These things aren't the most comfortable things in the world." She sighed, closing the container that once held salad.

"Could you check up on Angel Fraser?" Was the first thing Cameron heard as she sat down at her office. She sighed; she finally had a rest break, for Christ's sake! The nurse looked at Cameron, holding the file in her hand.
"Refresh my memory on her ..." Cameron rubbed her temples; today had been one of the rougher days in the ER. It was hard being the head.
"Car crash, about a day ago, broken foot, bruised ribs, lacerations and a concussion." She looked up; it was staring to ring a bell. If she hadn't been out of town, she would've been rushing to the ER that night to help out. Everything was starting to come back; everyone was still pretty torn up about it.
"Yeah." She sat up, pulling her hair into a ponytail before taking the folder from the nurse and heading up to the patient room. As she walked, she looked over the file and grimaced. Angel had lost someone that she had cared about ... and from past experience, Cameron knew that it wasn't easy to cope with.
Cameron turned the corner and walked towards the patients room, noticing that Wilson was there. What is Wilson doing here? She thought to herself, but shrugged it off. Before she stepped into the room, she got a good look at the patient, and it dawned on her who it was.
Dr. Angel Fraser, head of Cardiology.
So that's why the name seemed so familiar. Cameron took a deep breath, put a smile on, and knocked on the door before opening it.
"Hello, Angel. I'm here for your check-up. How are you feeling?"

Angel looked up at the new doctor who just entered the room. She looked at Wilson, then back at the new doctor. "I want to go home." She sighed. She knew she still had another night as a patient, but that still didn't stop her from wanting the comforts of home.
"My chest is still a little sore. I'm pretty sure some retrograde amnesia is still there." She stopped herself. She was a patient, not the doctor. "I'm feeling a lot better than I did when I first came in." She chuckled.

"It has got to be more comfortable than the couch I'll be sleeping on tonight," Wilson said, chuckling. "You'll be back in your own bed before you know it."
He turned around when he heard a knock on the door and smiled when he saw it was Cameron. He would let the two of them have some privacy. "I'm going to go get acquainted with my bed for the night," he said, standing up and leaving the room.

"My chest is still a little sore. I'm pretty sure some retrograde amnesia is still there." Cameron mentally laughed; of course. She was a doctor, so she'd use doctor terms. She wrote down the complaints as Wilson left, giving them some privacy. "I'm feeling a lot better than I did when I first came in."
"That's good - I'd be worried if you weren't," She laughed slightly before grabbing the CO2 and blood pressure meter; the simple routine for a checkup. She had to make sure that she was stable. "By the way, I'm Allison Cameron. You're Angel Fraser, head of Cardiology, correct?" She didn't feel the need to warn her about what she was doing; it was only expected of a doctor. She wrote down the recorded blood pressure and CO2 on her chart, before grabbing a light to check her pupils to make sure that her head was okay.
Everything seemed to be just fine.
"Anything else?" Another routine question; but it was only typical that she might've not said anything being that Wilson was there. She had heard the stories of what was more than likely going to happen.

"See you later Wilson." Angel smiled, waving as Wilson left the room. She didn't want him to leave, but she had company and who knew, maybe Cuddy would come down to see her at some point.
Angel watched as Cameron began the routine check up, feeling strange being the one on the receiving end. "Yes, that would be me. It's a pleasure meeting you Dr.Cameron, although it would have been nicer if circumstances were different." She smiled. She blinked a few times after Cameron looked at her pupils, trying to get rid of the splotch of light. "Nope, can't think of anything. Just when the heck can I go home?"

"Yes, that would be me. It's a pleasure meeting you Dr.Cameron, although it would have been nicer if circumstances were different." She couldn't agree more; it was always kinda awkward treating a doctor, which resulted in meeting them and all that jazz. She worked her way through the check up, pressing and squeezing on her hand. "Can you feel that?"
"Nope, can't think of anything. Just when the heck can I go home?" Cameron pondered that one for a minute.
"In the morning; we just want to keep you overnight to make sure that you don't slip up. You know how it goes; if the crash is bad enough someone gets killed, they make sure that everyone else is stable for at least 24 hours before they send you back home."

"Yep, I can feel you squeezing." Angel replied, when Cameron inquired. She also sighed when Cameron brought up the proper procedure for after a critical accident. "I know, protocol." She shook her head. Sometimes that oath she took got in the way of things, but she wouldn't change it for the world.
"Guess I should just make myself as comfortable as I can here for the night." She chuckled, picking up her bottle of juice. She yawned a little, her body still sluggish from the drugs. "I don't think I've had that much sleep in a long time."

"Yep, I can feel you squeezing." Cameron moved onto the other three extremities, getting the same response. Another good sign - for all she could've known, she could've lost her feeling all together in a split second if the head injury was bad.
"Guess I should just make myself as comfortable as I can here for the night. I don't think I've had that much sleep in a long time." Most doctors didn't; they were either on call or working and hardly had much time for sleep.
"It should wear off in about an hour," Cameron said, finishing up the check-up. From everything she had seen, she appeared to be just fine. But she also knew how could easily change; three years with House had taught her that it was true that something, a bug biting her, perhaps, would screw it all up. Emotionally, however, Angel was probably unstable. According to everyone around her, her ex abusive boyfriend when drunk had died. Even if she hated him, death is simply to painful for anyone to bear. It also hurts like a son of a b-tch, even if you didn't know the person or not. Just the actual thought of being there!
"Well, from the looks of it, everything appears to be alright. You're head will still hurt, as a part of the concussion, along with practically your whole body. If you need anything, feel free to page me."

"Mm, don't say that, I'm enjoying the good sleep." Angel chuckled, noticing that the checkup was over. Cameron mentioned that her head and body would still hurt, so Angel nodded.
She gave the young doctor a smile. She couldn't help but notice that Cameron was probably around the same age as her. "I'll do that." She replied, knowing that the support staff around here was top notch.
